A data breach occurs when unauthorized individuals access and steal information, such as names, emails, or credit card numbers. This can negatively impact both your customers and your business. ## Why should you care about data breaches?   Data breaches are serious issues. They can lead to financial losses. Your customers might lose trust in you. You could also face fines. It's crucial to take steps to prevent them from happening initially. ## How do you prevent a data breach? Here are 10 steps to help keep your data safe: ### 1. Use strong passwords Create lengthy, intricate passwords that are difficult to predict. Incorporate a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using the same password across multiple accounts. ### 2. Update your software **Always update your computer programs.** Updates usually patch security holes. Have your computer set to update automatically. ### 3. Train your employees Train your employees in data security. Show them how to recognize fraudulent emails.
